I’m a London-based travel writer and photographer with experience as a digital editor and social media manager. Previously web editor at Rough Guides, then launch editor of brand new loveEXPLORING, I’m now a freelance writer with words and pictures published in World Travel Magazine, SUITCASE, AFAR, National Geographic Traveller UK, Mashable, lovefood.com, Weather2Travel and more.
Journalism & travel writing
I’ve been published online, in print magazines and in travel guidebooks and coffee table titles. Head here to see more of my writing.
Digital content & social media
From 2013 to 2017 I managed Rough Guides’ highly successful online content and social media. In 2015 alone, our Facebook following and engagement more-than doubled and, during my time at the publisher, our website traffic grew from 600,000 monthly users to two million.
In May of 2017, I moved on to launch loveEXPLORING – a new travel inspiration and advice site for digital publisher Love Inc (the brains behind loveMONEY and loveFOOD). I grew the site from 20,000 users in month one to more than 60,000 monthly users by May 2018 and our team tripled in size after just six months online.
I left Love Inc to pursue a more flexible lifestyle as a freelance writer & editor. Get in touch here if you’re interested in my writing/editing services.
Speaking & training
I have given one-to-one training and group seminars on social media and online content, as well as mentoring second year journalism students at London College of Communications. I’ve spoken at a wide variety of industry events and on travel-related panels for the British Guild of Travel Writers, PRCA, and at Cambridge University. Get in touch here if you’re interested in my speaking or training services.
